Mein Geliebter ist weiß und rotwangig, der Angesehenste unter Myriaden.

21. [The beginner] must also know that among the actions of Tiferet are glory and majesty, as its name testifies. The reason is that majesty and beauty are a combination of white and red, as [the verse] states, My beloved is white and red (Song of Songs 5:10). Thus all the matters which are composed of red and white, fire and water, dryness and wetness, Judgment and Mercy, [combine] in the mystery of this quality. Thus the greenish color of an egg yolk [exists] among the precious stones. All of these are influenced by [Tiferet], and their virtue is in its power. Also dependent upon it are the Torah and its study. Also the [begetting of] sons depends upon the supernal qualities [sefirot], and its true locus is in this quality. Also the manna used to descend to Israel from the midst of this quality. Upon [Tiferet] also depends the matter of the begetting of souls, which is the recondite meaning of the union of this quality with that of Malkhut. This [union] is something which is to be found in these [two] qualities and in Ḥokhmah and Binah, [but] which is not to be found in all the other qualities.
